Sam Altman is an American entrepreneur, investor, and programmer, widely recognized for his influential role in the tech industry. Born on April 22, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois, Altman began his entrepreneurial journey at a young age and co-founded Loopt, a location-based social networking app, which was one of the first businesses funded by Y Combinator (YC) and later sold to Green Dot Corporation. Altman's most notable contribution came as the president of Y Combinator, a premier startup accelerator known for backing successful startups such as Airbnb, Dropbox, and Reddit.
